The Leadership Council is comprised of voluntary or staff leaders of each membership organization or its designate. Its purpose is to provide a forum and to work collaboratively to identify issues of importance to women of Long Island and recommend action to the LIWA board.
The Leadership Council meets every other month (dates and times to be announced).
Our goals for this year include increased communication and the fostering of collaborations among LIWA's member organizations and between LIWA and its member organizations and an increase in Leadership Council membership.
A new feature this year - at the beginning of each meeting, every represented organization gets to give a "one minute commercial" about their program, upcoming events and/or needs. This helps all of us "get the word out" about all the vital work that is happening in LI's womens organizations.
