Membership Application
There are two ways to join LIWA, as an individual or as an organization. Use the following links to apply for LIWA membership:

Membership Classifications
Organization Membership:
- For "not-for-profit" entities
- One in which women comprise more than 50% of it's membership, or,
- An organization which has "women's issues" as its primary focus and women comprise more that 50% of its governing board
- Headquartered, or, operating on Long Island
- Dues 100 per year
Associate Organization Membership:
- For "not-for-profit" associations or corporations, that do not meet the above criteria
- Dues 100 per year
Corporate Membership:
- For "profit" entities
- Dues 500 per year
Individual Membership:
- For women or men
- Dues 35 per year
Benefits
LIWA is a forum where diverse women's groups and individual women have the opportunity to come together, disseminate information, share concerns and form partnerships in an on going effort to become empowered in the areas that affect the women of Long Island. Membership includes both organizational and individual members.
Membership benefits of both classifications:
- the opportunity to get involved with issues of concern to women and Long Island by participating in one of LIWA's committees
- members receive LIWA's annual Directory of Women's Organizations, the only complete reference source of women's organizations on Long Island.
- members receive LIWA's newsletter, Issues in Focus, which provides an update of the issues and activities of both LIWA and its member organizations.
- members receive direct updates of LIWA's initiatives and events via email with links to LIWA's website (www.liwa.org).
Individual Members will also receive the following benefits, which include:
- the opportunity to attend LIWA events at member prices, including various workshops that focus on issues important to women, as well as, our Annual June Awards Dinner.
- receive the newsletter Issues in Focus (which includes a calendar of the events and meetings of LIWA and its member organizations).
- receive a discount on tickets to performances at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.
- receive two dollars off of admission at the Nassau County Museum of Art and 10% discount on catalouges and posters
- Discount for Friends of the Arts� Long Island Summer Festival and North Fork Bank Jazz Festival
LIWA Members may purchase tickets for PAVILION sections A or B at a five dollar discount per ticket (maximum 2 tickets per event) directly through FOTA by mail or fax by entering LIWA in the Discount Code box on their order form. LIWA members may also purchase through ticketmaster.com (use LIWA for the promo code). Tickets must be purchased in advance, may not be combined with other discounts, and are not retroactive. No discount is available on the day of the event. An order form and full schedule are available online at www.FOTApresents.org.
Organizational Members will also receive the following benefits, which include:
- their own page in the LIWA website, (www.liwa.org), which will serve as a forum to highlight the organzations' mission, events, initiatives. Members can also contribute articles about issues of importance to their organizations via the LIWA website. A link to their own organization will also be provided.
- listings on LIWA's website and The Agenda's "Master Calendar of Events" to track organizations' events, minimize scheduling conflicts, publicize and increase attendance at their own affiliate's activities.
- partnering with LIWA in programs developed to help women and to address issues of importance to women on Long Island
- having their organizations listed in LIWA's Directory of Women's Organizations.
